Workshop with Fiona Peart 18th February, 2010

Fiona Peartt is a profesional artist and demonstrator living in Bouton-on-the-water.
She writes in the magazine Leisure Painter, among others, and we were very pleased when
Fiona agreed to provide us with a Workshop experience in our village hall.
Members of both our Wednesday and Friday groups were present,
a total of twelve, and at the end everyone has enjoyed the experience,
many were tired after an intense days work.

Fiona started, after introductions with watercolour brushes strokes, at the same time introducing us to two mew brushes, pyramid and stipple brushes, with the emphasis on our subject for the day, Roses.  For most of the morning we were practicing more advanced strokes leading towards the final subject, a lovely spray.

There were diversions as we were offered interesting snippits of interest, types of paper, brushes and the materials used in their manufacture, and a magic watercolour eraser which actually works, how is a mystery.

After a couple if sheets of practice paper , and many attempts to follow Fiona demonstrations we were ready to precede and broke for la well earned lunch.

After the break we started on our final project and with Fiona's help and demonstrations we all finished a painting of  roses to a high standard.
